Situated south of Castle Hill in Budapest, is Gellert Hill, and it is here that one finds the Citadella. Built as a fortress after the 1848-49 revolutions as a defence against further insurrection, it had become obsolete before being completed when the political mood settled. If walking is not really your scene then take the No 27 bus that runs from Moriez Zsigmond korter almost to the summit. Should you enjoy the exercise it is safe to say all paths lead to the Citadel so strike out and enjoy the climb.
