Chicago Sights, Sounds and Hotels

Robie House in Chicago was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Frederick C. Robie and built in 1909 for the young manufacturer of bicycles. The horizontal lines of the building that complemented so well the flat landscape of the Midwestern prairie caused its architectural style to become known as the ‘Prairie School’ design. It was this design that was in such striking contrast to traditional houses of the period that marked a defining moment in modern suburban architecture and dramatically changed the look of homes. Robie House was designated a Chicago Landmark in 1971.

Don't miss Chicago's Robie House for an insight of where modern urban architecture took it's hold. Chicago is a fast moving midwestern metropolis with a world class reputation, and this is reflected vividly in the outstanding Chicago Hotels.
