Edinburgh Sights, Sounds and Hotels
The Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh was erected on the site of an ancient Franciscan friary and dedicated on Christmas Day in 1638. Greyfriars Kirkyard is a quiet place that is situated in one of Edinburgh’s most significant areas on the bed of a peaceful valley of volcanic cliffs, churches, and tenements, with the castle overlooking. It was here that the National Covenant was signed, which rejected Charles I efforts to restore episcopacy and a new English prayer book, and which later led to the execution of many of the Covenanters in Grassmarket.
Edinburgh's Greyfriars Kirk is one of the many attractive and interesting buildings that you will find in Edinburgh city. Even some of the Edinburgh hotels are in attractive and interesting buildings.
